The Grants, Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) is the main investment grant aid for businesses. Any business located within a Tier One, Tier Two or Tier Three area could earn funding towards an investment project that could ultimately help to create or safeguard jobs and any business can apply regardless of whether it is Scottish-owned or owned or headquartered outside the country. To achieve grant funding however, your business must involve an element of capital investment; be financially viable; be mainly funded by the private sector but need the RSA to proceed; and must not simply be offset by job losses elsewhere in the assisted areas.

For grant aid for business relocation to Dundee your company can apply for tier two funding. Though maximum aid limits are dependent on both location and the size of the business, grant aid is available for up to 35 per cent for small businesses; 25 per cent for medium-sized businesses; and 10 per cent for large businesses.

Eligible project costs, which must be capitalised, include plant and machinery, software and expenditure on land and buildings. The project must make commercial sense and must contribute towards national economic performance. Bear in mind that the level of grant funding your business can receive will be determined by the RSA’s assessment of your need for assistance and the size of the project.
